01Opening

اللَّهُمَّ يَا كَبِيرُ يَا سَمِيعُ يَا بَصِيرُ يَا مَنْ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَلَا وَزِيرَ لَهُ وَيَا خَالِقَ الشَّمْسِ وَالْقَمَرِ الْمُنِيرِ وَيَا عِصْمَةَ الْبَائِسِ الْخَائِفِ الْمُسْتَجِيرِ وَيَا رَازِقَ الطِّفْلِ الصَّغِيرِ وَيَا جَابِرَ الْعَظْمِ الْكَسِيرِ. أَدْعُوكَ دُعَاءَ الْبَائِسِ الْفَقِيرِ كَدُعَاءِ الْمُضْطَرِّ الضَّرِيرِ. أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَعَاقِدِ الْعِزِّ مِنْ عَرْشِكَ وَبِمَفَاتِيحِ الرَّحْمَةِ مِنْ كِتَابِكَ وَبِالْأَسْمَاءِ الثَّمَانِيَةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ عَلَى قَرْنِ الشَّمْسِ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ الْقُرْآنَ رَبِيعَ قَلْبِي وَجَلَاءَ حُزْنِي. رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا كَذَا وَكَذَا.

Allāhumma yā Kabīr, yā Samīʿ, yā Baṣīr, yā man lā sharīka lahū wa lā wazīra lah, wa yā Khāliqa sh-shamsi wa l-qamari l-munīr, wa yā ʿIṣmata l-bāʾisi l-khāʾifi l-mustajīr, wa yā Rāziqa ṭ-ṭifli ṣ-ṣaghīr, wa yā Jābira l-ʿaẓmi l-kasīr. Adʿūka duʿāʾa l-bāʾisi l-faqīr, ka-duʿāʾi l-muḍṭarri ḍ-ḍarīr. Asʾaluka bi-maʿāqidi l-ʿizzi min ʿarshik, wa bi-mafātīḥi r-raḥmati min kitābik, wa bi l-asmāʾi th-thamāniyati l-maktūbati ʿalā qarni sh-shams, an tajʿala l-Qurʾāna rabīʿa qalbī wa jalāʾa ḥuznī. Rabbanā ātinā fi d-dunyā kadhā wa kadhā.

O Allah, O Most Great, O All-Hearing, O All-Seeing; O You who has no partner and no minister; O Creator of the sun and the shining moon; O Refuge of the wretched, the fearful, the one seeking protection; O Provider of the small child; O Mender of the broken bone. I call upon You with the call of the wretched and poor, like the call of one in distress and afflicted. I ask You by the bonds of might of Your Throne, by the keys of mercy in Your Book, and by the eight names written upon the disc of the sun, that You make the Qurʾān the spring of my heart and the clearing of my sorrow. Our Lord, give us in this world such and such.

02Supplication

يَا مُؤْنِسَ كُلِّ وَحِيدٍ وَيَا صَاحِبَ كُلِّ فَرِيدٍ وَيَا قَرِيبًا غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ وَيَا شَاهِدًا غَيْرَ غَائِبٍ وَيَا غَالِبًا غَيْرَ مَغْلُوبٍ يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ.

Yā Muʾnisa kulli waḥīd, wa yā Ṣāḥiba kulli farīd, wa yā Qarīban ghayra baʿīd, wa yā Shāhidan ghayra ghāʾib, wa yā Ghāliban ghayra maghlūb, yā Ḥayyu yā Qayyūm, yā Dha l-Jalāli wa l-Ikrām.

O Companion of every solitary one, O Friend of every one left alone, O Near One who is never far, O Witness who is never absent, O Victor who is never overcome; O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, O Possessor of majesty and honour.

03Supplication

يَا نُورَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يَا زَيْنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يَا جَبَّارَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يَا عِمَادَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يَا بَدِيعَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يَا قَيَّامَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ يَا صَرِيخَ الْمُسْتَصْرِخِينَ وَمُنْتَهَى الْعَائِذِينَ وَالْمُفَرِّجَ عَنِ الْمَكْرُوبِينَ وَالْمُرَوِّحَ عَنِ الْمَغْمُومِينَ وَمُجِيبَ دُعَاءِ الْمُضْطَرِّينَ وَيَا كَاشِفَ الْكُرَبِ يَا إِلَهَ الْعَالَمِينَ وَيَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ مَنْزُولٌ بِكَ كُلُّ حَاجَةٍ.

Yā Nūra s-samāwāti wa l-arḍ, yā Zayna s-samāwāti wa l-arḍ, yā Jabbāra s-samāwāti wa l-arḍ, yā ʿImāda s-samāwāti wa l-arḍ, yā Badīʿa s-samāwāti wa l-arḍ, yā Qayyāma s-samāwāti wa l-arḍ, yā Dha l-Jalāli wa l-Ikrām, yā Ṣarīkha l-mustaṣrikhīn, wa Muntaha l-ʿāʾidhīn, wa l-Mufarrija ʿani l-makrūbīn, wa l-Murawwiḥa ʿani l-maghmūmīn, wa Mujība duʿāʾi l-muḍṭarrīn, wa yā Kāshifa l-kurab, yā Ilāha l-ʿālamīn, wa yā Arḥama r-rāḥimīn, manzūlun bika kullu ḥājah.

O Light of the heavens and the earth, O Adornment of the heavens and the earth, O Compeller of the heavens and the earth, O Pillar of the heavens and the earth, O Originator of the heavens and the earth, O Sustainer of the heavens and the earth, O Possessor of majesty and honour; O Answerer of those who cry out, O final recourse of those who seek refuge, O Reliever of the distressed, O Comforter of the grieving, O Answerer of the call of those in extremity; O Remover of anguish, O God of the worlds, O Most Merciful of the merciful: every need is laid before You.

04Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مَوْتِ الْهَمِّ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مَوْتِ الْغَمِّ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُوعِ فَإِنَّهُ بِئْسَ الضَّجِيعُ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخِيَانَةِ فَإِنَّهَا بِئْسَتِ الْبِطَانَةُ.

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min mawti l-hamm, wa aʿūdhu bika min mawti l-ghamm, wa aʿūdhu bika mina l-jūʿi fa innahū biʾsa ḍ-ḍajīʿ, wa aʿūdhu bika mina l-khiyānati fa innahā biʾsati l-biṭānah.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from dying in worry, I seek refuge in You from dying in grief, I seek refuge in You from hunger, for it is a wretched bedfellow, and I seek refuge in You from treachery, for it is a wretched confidant.

05Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ سَرِيرَتِي خَيْرًا مِنْ عَلَانِيَتِي وَاجْعَلْ عَلَانِيَتِي صَالِحَةً. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ صَالِحِ مَا تُؤْتِي النَّاسَ مِنَ الْمَالِ وَالْأَهْلِ وَالْوَلَدِ غَيْرَ ضَالٍّ وَلَا مُضِلٍّ.

Allāhumma jʿal sarīratī khayran min ʿalāniyatī, wa jʿal ʿalāniyatī ṣāliḥah. Allāhumma innī asʾaluka min ṣāliḥi mā tuʾti n-nāsa mina l-māli wa l-ahli wa l-walad, ghayra ḍāllin wa lā muḍill.

O Allah, make my inward better than my outward, and make my outward righteous. O Allah, I ask You for the best of what You give people of wealth, family and children, neither astray nor leading astray.

06Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا مِنْ عِبَادِكَ الْمُنْتَخَبِينَ الْغُرِّ الْمُحَجَّلِينَ الْوَفْدِ الْمُتَقَبَّلِينَ.

Allāhumma jʿalnā min ʿibādika l-muntakhabīn, al-ghurri l-muḥajjalīn, al-wafdi l-mutaqabbalīn.

O Allah, make us among Your chosen servants, radiant of face and limb, a delegation that is accepted.

07Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَنْ أُشْرِكَ بِكَ شَيْئًا وَأَنَا أَعْلَمُ بِهِ وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا لَا أَعْلَمُ بِهِ.

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min an ushrika bika shayʾan wa anā aʿlamu bih, wa astaghfiruka limā lā aʿlamu bih.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know of.

08Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ وَبِاسْمِكَ الْعَظِيمِ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالْفَقْرِ.

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bi-wajhika l-karīm, wa bi-smika l-ʿaẓīm, mina l-kufri wa l-faqr.

O Allah, I seek refuge in Your noble face and in Your mighty name from disbelief and from poverty.

09Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ قِنِي شَرَّ نَفْسِي وَاعْزِمْ لِي عَلَى أَرْشَدِ أَمْرِي.

Allāhumma qinī sharra nafsī, wa ʿzim lī ʿalā arshadi amrī.

O Allah, protect me from the evil of my own soul, and resolve me upon the most rightly guided of my affairs.

10Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَلَا تَنْزِعْ مِنِّي صَالِحَ مَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا نَازِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا يَعْصِمُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ.

Allāhumma lā takilnī ilā nafsī ṭarfata ʿayn, wa lā tanziʿ minnī ṣāliḥa mā aʿṭaytanī, fa innahū lā nāziʿa limā aʿṭayt, wa lā yaʿṣimu dha l-jaddi minka l-jadd.

O Allah, do not leave me to myself for the blink of an eye, and do not take from me the good You have given me, for none can take away what You have given, and the fortune of the fortunate is no protection against You.

11Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ غِنَى الْأَهْلِ وَالْمَوْلَى وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ عَلَيَّ رَحِمٌ قَطَعْتُهَا.

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka ghina l-ahli wa l-mawlā, wa aʿūdhu bika an yadʿuwa ʿalayya raḥimun qaṭaʿtuhā.

O Allah, I ask You for sufficiency for my family and my dependants, and I seek refuge in You from a tie of kinship I have severed praying against me.

12Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ نَفْسًا بِكَ مُطْمَئِنَّةً تُؤْمِنُ بِلِقَائِكَ وَتَرْضَى بِقَضَائِكَ وَتَقْنَعُ بِعَطَائِكَ.

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka nafsan bika muṭmaʾinnah, tuʾminu bi-liqāʾik, wa tarḍā bi-qaḍāʾik, wa taqnaʿu bi-ʿaṭāʾik.

O Allah, I ask You for a soul at rest in You, believing in the meeting with You, pleased with Your decree and content with Your giving.

13Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى بَطْنِهِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى رِجْلَيْنِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى أَرْبَعٍ.

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min sharri man yamshī ʿalā baṭnih, wa min sharri man yamshī ʿalā rijlayn, wa min sharri man yamshī ʿalā arbaʿ.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what moves upon its belly, from the evil of what walks on two legs, and from the evil of what walks on four.

14Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ تُشَيِّبُنِي قَبْلَ الْمَشِيبِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَلَدٍ يَكُونُ عَلَيَّ وَبَالًا وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مَالٍ يَكُونُ عَلَيَّ عَذَابًا وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ صَاحِبٍ خَدِيعَةٍ إِنْ رَأَى حَسَنَةً دَفَنَهَا وَإِنْ رَأَى سَيِّئَةً أَفْشَاهَا.

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min imraʾatin tushayyibunī qabla l-mashīb, wa aʿūdhu bika min waladin yakūnu ʿalayya wabālā, wa aʿūdhu bika min mālin yakūnu ʿalayya ʿadhābā, wa aʿūdhu bika min ṣāḥibi khadīʿatin in raʾā ḥasanatan dafanahā, wa in raʾā sayyiʾatan afshāhā.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a wife who turns my hair grey before its time; I seek refuge in You from a child who becomes a burden upon me; I seek refuge in You from wealth that becomes a punishment upon me; and I seek refuge in You from a treacherous companion who, if he sees a good deed, buries it, and if he sees a bad one, spreads it abroad.

15Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ سِرِّي وَعَلَانِيَتِي فَاقْبَلْ مَعْذِرَتِي وَتَعْلَمُ حَاجَتِي فَأَعْطِنِي سُؤْلِي وَتَعْلَمُ مَا فِي نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ إِيمَانًا يُبَاشِرُ قَلْبِي وَيَقِينًا صَادِقًا حَتَّى أَعْلَمَ أَنَّهُ لَا يُصِيبُنِي إِلَّا مَا كَتَبْتَ لِي وَرِضًا بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ.

Allāhumma innaka taʿlamu sirrī wa ʿalāniyatī fa qbal maʿdhiratī, wa taʿlamu ḥājatī fa aʿṭinī suʾlī, wa taʿlamu mā fī nafsī fa ghfir lī dhunūbī. Allāhumma innī asʾaluka īmānan yubāshiru qalbī, wa yaqīnan ṣādiqan ḥattā aʿlama annahū lā yuṣībunī illā mā katabta lī, wa riḍan bimā qasamta lī, innaka ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr.

O Allah, You know what I keep secret and what I make known, so accept my excuse. You know my need, so grant me my request. You know what is within me, so forgive me my sins. O Allah, I ask You for a faith that touches my heart directly, and a true certainty by which I know that nothing befalls me but what You have written for me, and contentment with what You have apportioned to me. Indeed, You are over all things competent.

16Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدًا دَائِمًا مَعَ دَوَامِكَ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدًا خَالِدًا مَعَ خُلُودِكَ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدًا لَا مُنْتَهَى لَهُ دُونَ مَشِيئَتِكَ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدًا دَائِمًا لَا يُرِيدُ قَائِلُهُ إِلَّا رِضَاكَ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدًا عِنْدَ كُلِّ طَرْفَةِ عَيْنٍ وَتَنَفُّسِ كُلِّ نَفَسٍ.

Allāhumma laka l-ḥamdu ḥamdan dāʾiman maʿa dawāmik, wa laka l-ḥamdu ḥamdan khālidan maʿa khulūdik, wa laka l-ḥamdu ḥamdan lā muntahā lahū dūna mashīʾatik, wa laka l-ḥamdu ḥamdan dāʾiman lā yurīdu qāʾiluhū illā riḍāk, wa laka l-ḥamdu ḥamdan ʿinda kulli ṭarfati ʿaynin wa tanaffusi kulli nafas.

O Allah, to You belongs praise, a praise that lasts as You last; to You belongs praise, a praise that endures as You endure; to You belongs praise, a praise that has no end short of Your will; to You belongs praise, a lasting praise whose speaker desires nothing but Your pleasure; and to You belongs praise, a praise at every blink of an eye and with the drawing of every breath.

17Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ أَقْبِلْ بِقَلْبِي إِلَى دِينِكَ وَاحْفَظْ مِنْ وَرَائِنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ.

Allāhumma aqbil bi-qalbī ilā dīnik, wa ḥfaẓ min warāʾinā bi-raḥmatik.

O Allah, turn my heart towards Your religion, and guard what is behind us by Your mercy.

18Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ ثَبِّتْنِي أَنْ أَزِلَّ وَاهْدِنِي أَنْ أَضِلَّ. اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا حُلْتَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ قَلْبِي فَحُلْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَعَمَلِهِ.

Allāhumma thabbitnī an azill, wa hdinī an aḍill. Allāhumma kamā ḥulta baynī wa bayna qalbī fa ḥul baynī wa bayna sh-shayṭāni wa ʿamalih.

O Allah, make me firm lest I slip, and guide me lest I go astray. O Allah, as You come between me and my heart, come between me and Shayṭān and his work.

19Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنَا مِنْ فَضْلِكَ وَلَا تَحْرِمْنَا رِزْقَكَ وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِيمَا رَزَقْتَنَا وَاجْعَلْ غِنَاءَنَا فِي أَنْفُسِنَا وَاجْعَلْ رَغْبَتَنَا فِيمَا عِنْدَكَ.

Allāhumma rzuqnā min faḍlik, wa lā taḥrimnā rizqak, wa bārik lanā fīmā razaqtanā, wa jʿal ghināʾanā fī anfusinā, wa jʿal raghbatanā fīmā ʿindak.

O Allah, provide for us from Your bounty, do not deprive us of Your provision, bless us in what You have provided, place our sufficiency within ourselves, and set our longing upon what is with You.

20Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ خَلَّاقٌ عَظِيمٌ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ إِنَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ إِنَّكَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ الْبَرُّ الْجَوَادُ الْكَرِيمُ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَعَافِنِي وَارْزُقْنِي وَاسْتُرْنِي وَاجْبُرْنِي وَارْفَعْنِي وَاهْدِنِي وَلَا تُضِلَّنِي وَأَدْخِلْنِيَ الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

Allāhumma innaka Khallāqun ʿAẓīm, innaka Samīʿun ʿAlīm, innaka Ghafūrun Raḥīm, innaka Rabbu l-ʿarshi l-ʿaẓīm. Allāhumma innaka l-Barru l-Jawādu l-Karīm, ighfir lī wa rḥamnī, wa ʿāfinī wa rzuqnī, wa sturnī wa jburnī, wa rfaʿnī wa hdinī wa lā tuḍillanī, wa adkhilniya l-jannata bi-raḥmatik, yā Arḥama r-rāḥimīn.

O Allah, You are the Mighty Creator; You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing; You are the Forgiving, the Merciful; You are the Lord of the Mighty Throne. O Allah, You are the Good, the Munificent, the Generous: forgive me and have mercy on me, grant me wellbeing and provide for me, cover my faults and mend what is broken in me, raise me and guide me and do not let me go astray, and admit me to Paradise by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

21Supplication

إِلَيْكَ رَبِّ فَحَبِّبْنِي وَفِي نَفْسِي لَكَ رَبِّ فَذَلِّلْنِي وَفِي أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ فَعَظِّمْنِي وَمِنْ سَيِّئِ الْأَخْلَاقِ فَجَنِّبْنِي.

Ilayka Rabbi fa ḥabbibnī, wa fī nafsī laka Rabbi fa dhallilnī, wa fī aʿyuni n-nāsi fa ʿaẓẓimnī, wa min sayyiʾi l-akhlāqi fa jannibnī.

My Lord, make me beloved to You; my Lord, make me humble within myself before You; make me great in the eyes of people; and keep me far from bad character.

22Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ سَأَلْتَنَا مِنْ أَنْفُسِنَا مَا لَا نَمْلِكُهُ إِلَّا بِكَ فَأَعْطِنَا مِنْهَا مَا يُرْضِيكَ عَنَّا.

Allāhumma innaka saʾaltanā min anfusinā mā lā namlikuhū illā bik, fa aʿṭinā minhā mā yurḍīka ʿannā.

O Allah, You have asked of us from ourselves what we have no power over except by You, so give us of it what will make You pleased with us.

23Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ إِيمَانًا دَائِمًا وَأَسْأَلُكَ قَلْبًا خَاشِعًا وَأَسْأَلُكَ يَقِينًا صَادِقًا وَأَسْأَلُكَ دِينًا قَيِّمًا وَأَسْأَلُكَ الْعَافِيَةَ مِنْ كُلِّ بَلِيَّةٍ وَأَسْأَلُكَ دَوَامَ الْعَافِيَةِ وَأَسْأَلُكَ الشُّكْرَ عَلَى الْعَافِيَةِ وَأَسْأَلُكَ الْغِنَى عَنِ النَّاسِ.

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka īmānan dāʾimā, wa asʾaluka qalban khāshiʿā, wa asʾaluka yaqīnan ṣādiqā, wa asʾaluka dīnan qayyimā, wa asʾaluka l-ʿāfiyata min kulli baliyyah, wa asʾaluka dawāma l-ʿāfiyah, wa asʾaluka sh-shukra ʿala l-ʿāfiyah, wa asʾaluka l-ghinā ʿani n-nās.

O Allah, I ask You for a faith that endures, I ask You for a humble heart, I ask You for true certainty, I ask You for an upright religion, I ask You for wellbeing from every affliction, I ask You for lasting wellbeing, I ask You for thankfulness for wellbeing, and I ask You for independence from people.

24Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ بَطَرِ الْغِنَى وَمَذَلَّةِ الْفَقْرِ. يَا مَنْ وَعَدَ فَوَفَّى وَأَوْعَدَ فَعَفَا اغْفِرْ لِمَنْ ظَلَمَ وَأَسَا. يَا مَنْ يَسُرُّهُ طَاعَتِي وَلَا تَضُرُّهُ مَعْصِيَتِي هَبْ لِي مَا يَسُرُّكَ وَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا لَا يَضُرُّكَ.

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min baṭari l-ghinā wa madhallati l-faqr. Yā man waʿada fa waffā, wa awʿada fa ʿafā, ighfir liman ẓalama wa asā. Yā man yasurruhū ṭāʿatī, wa lā taḍurruhū maʿṣiyatī, hab lī mā yasurruk, wa ghfir lī mā lā yaḍurruk.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the insolence of wealth and the abasement of poverty. O You who promised and fulfilled, and who threatened and then pardoned: forgive the one who has wronged and done ill. O You whom my obedience pleases and whom my disobedience does not harm: grant me what pleases You, and forgive me what does not harm You.

25Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّكِّ فِي الْحَقِّ بَعْدَ الْيَقِينِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ.

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika mina sh-shakki fi l-ḥaqqi baʿda l-yaqīn, wa aʿūdhu bika mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīm, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharri yawmi d-dīn.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from doubt about the truth after certainty, I seek refuge in You from the accursed Shayṭān, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of the Day of Judgement.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ عُدْتُ فِيهِ وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتُكَ مِنْ نَفْسِي ثُمَّ لَمْ أُوفِ لَكَ بِهِ وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِلنِّعَمِ الَّتِي تَقَوَّيْتُ بِهَا عَلَى مَعْصِيَتِكَ وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِكُلِّ خَيْرٍ أَرَدْتُ بِهِ وَجْهَكَ فَخَالَطَنِي فِيهِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ. اللَّهُمَّ لَا تُخْزِنِي فَإِنَّكَ بِي عَالِمٌ وَلَا تُعَذِّبْنِي فَإِنَّكَ عَلَيَّ قَادِرٌ.

Allāhumma innī astaghfiruka limā tubtu ilayka minhu thumma ʿudtu fīh, wa astaghfiruka limā aʿṭaytuka min nafsī thumma lam ūfi laka bih, wa astaghfiruka li n-niʿami llatī taqawwaytu bihā ʿalā maʿṣiyatik, wa astaghfiruka li-kulli khayrin aradtu bihī wajhaka fa khālaṭanī fīhi mā laysa lak. Allāhumma lā tukhzinī fa innaka bī ʿālim, wa lā tuʿadhdhibnī fa innaka ʿalayya qādir.

O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness for what I repented of to You and then returned to; I seek Your forgiveness for what I pledged to You of myself and then did not fulfil; I seek Your forgiveness for the favours by which I gained strength to disobey You; and I seek Your forgiveness for every good I intended for Your face, into which there then entered what was not for You. O Allah, do not disgrace me, for You know me; and do not punish me, for You have power over me.

27Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ تَوَكَّلَ عَلَيْكَ فَكَفَيْتَهُ وَاسْتَهْدَاكَ فَهَدَيْتَهُ وَاسْتَنْصَرَكَ فَنَصَرْتَهُ.

Allāhumma jʿalnī mimman tawakkala ʿalayka fa kafaytah, wa stahdāka fa hadaytah, wa stanṣaraka fa naṣartah.

O Allah, make me one of those who relied upon You and You sufficed them, who sought Your guidance and You guided them, and who sought Your help and You helped them.

28Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ وَسَاوِسَ قَلْبِي خَشْيَتَكَ وَذِكْرَكَ وَاجْعَلْ هِمَّتِي وَهَوَايَ فِيمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضَى. اللَّهُمَّ وَمَا ابْتَلَيْتَنِي بِهِ مِنْ رَخَاءٍ وَشِدَّةٍ فَمَسِّكْنِي بِسُنَّةِ الْحَقِّ وَشَرِيعَةِ الْإِسْلَامِ.

Allāhumma jʿal wasāwisa qalbī khashyataka wa dhikrak, wa jʿal himmatī wa hawāya fīmā tuḥibbu wa tarḍā. Allāhumma wa mā btalaytanī bihī min rakhāʾin wa shiddah, fa massiknī bi-sunnati l-ḥaqqi wa sharīʿati l-islām.

O Allah, make the whisperings of my heart fear of You and remembrance of You, and set my resolve and my desire upon what You love and are pleased with. O Allah, whatever You test me with, of ease or of hardship, hold me fast to the way of truth and the law of Islam.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ تَمَامَ النِّعْمَةِ فِي الْأَشْيَاءِ كُلِّهَا وَالشُّكْرَ لَكَ عَلَيْهَا حَتَّى تَرْضَى وَبَعْدَ الرِّضَا الْخِيَرَةَ فِي جَمِيعِ مَا يَكُونُ فِيهِ الْخِيَرَةُ وَبِجَمِيعِ مَيْسُورِ الْأُمُورِ كُلِّهَا لَا بِمَعْسُورِهَا يَا كَرِيمُ.

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka tamāma n-niʿmati fi l-ashyāʾi kullihā, wa sh-shukra laka ʿalayhā ḥattā tarḍā, wa baʿda r-riḍa l-khiyarata fī jamīʿi mā yakūnu fīhi l-khiyarah, wa bi-jamīʿi maysūri l-umūri kullihā lā bi-maʿsūrihā, yā Karīm.

O Allah, I ask You for the completion of favour in all things, and for thankfulness to You for it until You are pleased; and after Your pleasure, for the best choice in everything in which there is a choice, and for the ease of all affairs and not their hardship, O Most Generous.

30Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ فَالِقَ الْإِصْبَاحِ وَجَاعِلَ اللَّيْلِ سَكَنًا وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ حُسْبَانًا اقْضِ عَنِّي الدَّيْنَ وَأَغْنِنِي مِنَ الْفَقْرِ وَقَوِّنِي عَلَى الْجِهَادِ فِي سَبِيلِكَ.

Allāhumma Fāliqa l-iṣbāḥ, wa Jāʿila l-layli sakanā, wa sh-shamsa wa l-qamara ḥusbānā, iqḍi ʿanni d-dayn, wa aghninī mina l-faqr, wa qawwinī ʿala l-jihādi fī sabīlik.

O Allah, Cleaver of the dawn, who made the night a repose and the sun and the moon a reckoning: settle my debt for me, free me from poverty, and strengthen me for striving in Your path.

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي بَلَائِكَ وَصَنِيعِكَ إِلَى خَلْقِكَ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي بَلَائِكَ وَصَنِيعِكَ إِلَى أَهْلِ بُيُوتِنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ فِي بَلَائِكَ وَصَنِيعِكَ إِلَى أَنْفُسِنَا خَاصَّةً وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ بِمَا هَدَيْتَنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ بِمَا أَكْرَمْتَنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ بِمَا سَتَرْتَنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ بِالْقُرْآنِ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ بِالْأَهْلِ وَالْمَالِ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ بِالْمُعَافَاةِ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَتَّى تَرْضَى وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ إِذَا رَضِيتَ يَا أَهْلَ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ.

Allāhumma laka l-ḥamdu fī balāʾika wa ṣanīʿika ilā khalqik, wa laka l-ḥamdu fī balāʾika wa ṣanīʿika ilā ahli buyūtinā, wa laka l-ḥamdu fī balāʾika wa ṣanīʿika ilā anfusinā khāṣṣah. Wa laka l-ḥamdu bimā hadaytanā, wa laka l-ḥamdu bimā akramtanā, wa laka l-ḥamdu bimā satartanā, wa laka l-ḥamdu bi l-Qurʾān, wa laka l-ḥamdu bi l-ahli wa l-māl, wa laka l-ḥamdu bi l-muʿāfāh, wa laka l-ḥamdu ḥattā tarḍā, wa laka l-ḥamdu idhā raḍīt, yā Ahla t-taqwā wa Ahla l-maghfirah.

O Allah, to You belongs praise in Your testing and in Your dealing with Your creation; to You belongs praise in Your testing and in Your dealing with the people of our houses; to You belongs praise in Your testing and in Your dealing with our own selves in particular. To You belongs praise for having guided us, to You belongs praise for having honoured us, to You belongs praise for having covered our faults, to You belongs praise for the Qurʾān, to You belongs praise for family and wealth, to You belongs praise for wellbeing, to You belongs praise until You are pleased, and to You belongs praise when You are pleased, O You who are worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive.

32Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ وَفِّقْنِي لِمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضَى مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَالْعَمَلِ وَالْفِعْلِ وَالنِّيَّةِ وَالْهُدَى إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ.

Allāhumma waffiqnī limā tuḥibbu wa tarḍā mina l-qawli wa l-ʿamali wa l-fiʿli wa n-niyyati wa l-hudā, innaka ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr.

O Allah, grant me success in what You love and are pleased with, in word and in work, in deed and in intention and in guidance. Indeed, You are over all things competent.

33Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ. اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي كُلَّ مُهِمٍّ مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتَ وَمِنْ أَيْنَ شِئْتَ.

Allāhumma Rabba s-samāwāti s-sabʿ, wa Rabba l-ʿarshi l-ʿaẓīm. Allāhumma kfinī kulla muhimmin min ḥaythu shiʾta wa min ayna shiʾt.

O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Mighty Throne. O Allah, suffice me in every weighty matter, however You will and from wherever You will.

حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لِدِينِي حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لِمَا أَهَمَّنِي حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ بَغَى عَلَيَّ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَسَدَنِي حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ كَادَنِي بِسُوءٍ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ عِنْدَ الْمَسْأَلَةِ فِي الْقَبْرِ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ عِنْدَ الْمِيزَانِ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ عِنْدَ الصِّرَاطِ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ.

Ḥasbiya Llāhu li-dīnī, ḥasbiya Llāhu limā ahammanī, ḥasbiya Llāhu liman baghā ʿalayy, ḥasbiya Llāhu liman ḥasadanī, ḥasbiya Llāhu liman kādanī bi-sūʾ, ḥasbiya Llāhu ʿinda l-mawt, ḥasbiya Llāhu ʿinda l-masʾalati fi l-qabr, ḥasbiya Llāhu ʿinda l-mīzān, ḥasbiya Llāhu ʿinda ṣ-ṣirāṭ, ḥasbiya Llāhu lā ilāha illā Huwa, ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa Rabbu l-ʿarshi l-ʿaẓīm.

Allah is enough for me in my religion; Allah is enough for me in what weighs on me; Allah is enough for me against whoever transgresses against me; Allah is enough for me against whoever envies me; Allah is enough for me against whoever plots evil against me; Allah is enough for me at death; Allah is enough for me at the questioning in the grave; Allah is enough for me at the scales; Allah is enough for me at the bridge. Allah is enough for me. There is no god but He. Upon Him I rely, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.

35Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ حَبِّبِ الْمَوْتَ إِلَى مَنْ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّ سَيِّدَنَا مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَسُولُكَ.

Allāhumma ḥabbibi l-mawta ilā man yaʿlamu anna sayyidanā Muḥammadan ṣalla Llāhu ʿalayhi wa sallama rasūluk.

O Allah, make death beloved to everyone who knows that our master Muḥammad ﷺ is Your Messenger.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ رَبٌّ عَظِيمٌ لَا يَسَعُكَ شَيْءٌ مِمَّا خَلَقْتَ وَأَنْتَ تَرَى وَلَا تُرَى وَأَنْتَ بِالْمَنْظَرِ الْأَعْلَى وَأَنَّ لَكَ الْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَى وَلَكَ الْمَمَاتُ وَالْمَحْيَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمُنْتَهَى وَالرُّجْعَى. نَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ نَذِلَّ وَنَخْزَى.

Allāhumma innaka Rabbun ʿAẓīm, lā yasaʿuka shayʾun mimmā khalaqt, wa anta tarā wa lā turā, wa anta bi l-manẓari l-aʿlā, wa anna laka l-ākhirata wa l-ūlā, wa laka l-mamātu wa l-maḥyā, wa ilayka l-muntahā wa r-rujʿā. Naʿūdhu bika an nadhilla wa nakhzā.

O Allah, You are a Mighty Lord; nothing You have created can contain You. You see and are not seen. You are in the highest place of vantage. To You belong the Hereafter and this world; to You belong death and life; and to You is the final end and the return. We seek refuge in You from being brought low and disgraced.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ ثَوَابَ الشَّاكِرِينَ وَنُزُلَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ وَمُرَافَقَةَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَيَقِينَ الصِّدِّيقِينَ وَذِلَّةَ الْمُتَّقِينَ وَإِخْبَاتَ الْمُوقِنِينَ حَتَّى تُوَفِّيَنِي عَلَى ذَلِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka thawāba sh-shākirīn, wa nuzula l-muqarrabīn, wa murāfaqata n-nabiyyīn, wa yaqīna ṣ-ṣiddīqīn, wa dhillata l-muttaqīn, wa ikhbāta l-mūqinīn, ḥattā tuwaffiyanī ʿalā dhālik, yā Arḥama r-rāḥimīn.

O Allah, I ask You for the reward of the thankful, the welcome of those brought near, the company of the prophets, the certainty of the truthful, the lowliness of the God-fearing and the humility of those of sure faith, until You take me in that state, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

38Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ السَّابِقَةِ عَلَيَّ وَبَلَائِكَ الْحَسَنِ الَّذِي ابْتَلَيْتَنِي بِهِ وَفَضْلِكَ الَّذِي فَضَّلْتَ عَلَيَّ أَنْ تُدْخِلَنِيَ الْجَنَّةَ بِمَنِّكَ وَفَضْلِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ.

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka bi-niʿmatika s-sābiqati ʿalayy, wa balāʾika l-ḥasani lladhi btalaytanī bih, wa faḍlika lladhī faḍḍalta ʿalayy, an tudkhilaniya l-jannata bi-mannika wa faḍlika wa raḥmatik.

O Allah, I ask You by Your favour that came to me before, by the good trial with which You have tried me, and by the bounty with which You have favoured me, that You admit me to Paradise by Your kindness, Your bounty and Your mercy.

39Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ وَأَمْرِكَ الْعَظِيمِ أَنْ تُجِيرَنِي مِنَ النَّارِ وَالْكُفْرِ وَالْفَقْرِ.

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka bi-wajhika l-karīm wa amrika l-ʿaẓīm, an tujīranī mina n-nāri wa l-kufri wa l-faqr.

O Allah, I ask You by Your noble face and Your mighty command that You protect me from the Fire, from disbelief and from poverty.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مَوْتِ الْفُجَاءَةِ وَمِنْ لَدْغَةِ الْحَيَّةِ وَمِنَ السَّبُعِ وَمِنَ الْغَرَقِ وَمِنَ الْحَرَقِ وَمِنْ أَنْ أَخِرَّ عَلَى شَيْءٍ وَمِنَ الْقَتْلِ عِنْدَ فِرَارِ الزَّحْفِ.

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min mawti l-fujāʾah, wa min ladghati l-ḥayyah, wa mina s-sabuʿ, wa mina l-gharaq, wa mina l-ḥaraq, wa min an akhirra ʿalā shayʾ, wa mina l-qatli ʿinda firāri z-zaḥf.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from sudden death, from the bite of a snake, from a wild beast, from drowning, from burning, from falling upon something, and from being killed while fleeing the battle line.

41Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ إِيمَانًا دَائِمًا وَهُدًى قَيِّمًا وَعِلْمًا نَافِعًا.

Allāhumma innī asʾaluka īmānan dāʾimā, wa hudan qayyimā, wa ʿilman nāfiʿā.

O Allah, I ask You for a faith that endures, an upright guidance and beneficial knowledge.

42Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْ لِفَاجِرٍ عِنْدِي نِعْمَةً أُكَافِيهِ بِهَا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ.

Allāhumma lā tajʿal li-fājirin ʿindī niʿmatan ukāfīhi bihā fi d-dunyā wa l-ākhirah.

O Allah, let no corrupt person place me under a favour I must repay him for in this world or the Hereafter.

43Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي وَوَسِّعْ لِي خُلُقِي وَطَيِّبْ لِي كَسْبِي وَقَنِّعْنِي بِمَا رَزَقْتَنِي وَلَا تُذْهِبْ طَلَبِي إِلَى شَيْءٍ صَرَفْتَهُ عَنِّي.

Allāhumma ghfir lī dhanbī, wa wassiʿ lī khuluqī, wa ṭayyib lī kasbī, wa qanniʿnī bimā razaqtanī, wa lā tudhhib ṭalabī ilā shayʾin ṣaraftahū ʿannī.

O Allah, forgive me my sin, make my character wide, make my earning wholesome, make me content with what You have provided me, and do not let my seeking go towards anything You have turned away from me.

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ. بِسْمِ اللَّهِ عَلَى نَفْسِي وَدِينِي بِسْمِ اللَّهِ عَلَى أَهْلِي وَمَالِي بِسْمِ اللَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ أَعْطَانِي رَبِّي بِسْمِ اللَّهِ خَيْرِ الْأَسْمَاءِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْأَرْضِ وَالسَّمَاءِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ دَاءٌ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ افْتَتَحْتُ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ اللَّهُ اللَّهُ رَبِّي لَا أُشْرِكُ بِهِ أَحَدًا. أَسْأَلُكَ اللَّهُمَّ بِخَيْرِكَ مِنْ خَيْرِكَ الَّذِي لَا يُعْطِيهِ غَيْرُكَ عَزَّ جَارُكَ وَجَلَّ ثَنَاؤُكَ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ اجْعَلْنِي فِي عِيَاذِكَ وَجِوَارِكَ مِنْ كُلِّ سُوءٍ وَمِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَجِيرُكَ مِنْ جَمِيعِ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْتَ وَأَحْتَرِسُ بِكَ مِنْهُنَّ وَأُقَدِّمُ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَمَامِي وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي وَمِنْ تَحْتِي.

Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar. Bismi Llāhi ʿalā nafsī wa dīnī, bismi Llāhi ʿalā ahlī wa mālī, bismi Llāhi ʿalā kulli shayʾin aʿṭānī Rabbī, bismi Llāhi khayri l-asmāʾ, bismi Llāhi Rabbi l-arḍi wa s-samāʾ, bismi Llāhi lladhī lā yaḍurru maʿa smihī dāʾ, bismi Llāhi ftataḥtu wa ʿala Llāhi tawakkaltu, Allāhu Llāhu Rabbī lā ushriku bihī aḥadā. Asʾaluka Llāhumma bi-khayrika min khayrika lladhī lā yuʿṭīhi ghayruk, ʿazza jāruk, wa jalla thanāʾuk, wa lā ilāha illā ant, ijʿalnī fī ʿiyādhika wa jiwārika min kulli sūʾin wa mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Allāhumma innī astajīruka min jamīʿi kulli shayʾin khalaqt, wa aḥtarisu bika minhunn, wa uqaddimu bayna yadayya bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm: Qul Huwa Llāhu aḥad. Allāhu ṣ-Ṣamad. Lam yalid wa lam yūlad. Wa lam yakun lahū kufuwan aḥad. Min amāmī, wa min khalfī, wa ʿan yamīnī, wa ʿan shimālī, wa min fawqī, wa min taḥtī.

Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. In the name of Allah, upon myself and my religion; in the name of Allah, upon my family and my wealth; in the name of Allah, upon everything my Lord has given me. In the name of Allah, the best of names; in the name of Allah, Lord of the earth and the sky; in the name of Allah, with whose name no illness can harm. In the name of Allah I begin, and upon Allah I rely. Allah, Allah is my Lord; I associate none with Him. I ask You, O Allah, by Your good, of Your good, which none but You gives. Mighty is Your protection, exalted is Your praise, and there is no god but You. Place me in Your shelter and Your neighbourhood, safe from every evil and from the accursed Shayṭān. O Allah, I seek Your protection from every single thing You have created, and I guard myself by You against them, and I place before me: In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. "Say, He is Allah, One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent." Before me, behind me, on my right, on my left, above me and beneath me.

45Supplication

خَلَقْتَ رَبَّنَا فَسَوَّيْتَ وَقَدَّرْتَ رَبَّنَا فَقَضَيْتَ وَعَلَى عَرْشِكَ اسْتَوَيْتَ وَأَمَتَّ فَأَحْيَيْتَ وَأَطْعَمْتَ فَأَشْبَعْتَ وَأَسْقَيْتَ فَأَرْوَيْتَ وَحَمَلْتَ فِي بَرِّكَ وَبَحْرِكَ عَلَى فُلْكِكَ وَعَلَى دَوَابِّكَ وَعَلَى أَنْعَامِكَ. فَاجْعَلْ لِي عِنْدَكَ وَلِيجَةً وَاجْعَلْ لِي عِنْدَكَ زُلْفَى وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ يَخَافُ مَقَامَكَ وَوَعِيدَكَ وَيَرْجُو لِقَاءَكَ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ يَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ تَوْبَةً نَصُوحًا وَأَسْأَلُكَ عَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا وَعِلْمًا نَافِعًا وَسَعْيًا مَشْكُورًا وَتِجَارَةً لَنْ تَبُورَ.

Khalaqta Rabbanā fa sawwayt, wa qaddarta Rabbanā fa qaḍayt, wa ʿalā ʿarshika stawayt, wa amatta fa aḥyayt, wa aṭʿamta fa ashbaʿt, wa asqayta fa arwayt, wa ḥamalta fī barrika wa baḥrika ʿalā fulkik, wa ʿalā dawābbik, wa ʿalā anʿāmik. Fa jʿal lī ʿindaka walījah, wa jʿal lī ʿindaka zulfā wa ḥusna maʾāb, wa jʿalnī mimman yakhāfu maqāmaka wa waʿīdak, wa yarjū liqāʾak, wa jʿalnī mimman yatūbu ilayka tawbatan naṣūḥā, wa asʾaluka ʿamalan mutaqabbalā, wa ʿilman nāfiʿā, wa saʿyan mashkūrā, wa tijāratan lan tabūr.

You created, our Lord, and gave due proportion; You ordained, our Lord, and decreed; and upon Your Throne You established Yourself. You caused death and then gave life; You fed and satisfied; You gave drink and quenched; and You carried us on Your land and Your sea, upon Your ships, Your beasts and Your cattle. So make for me a place of confidence with You, make for me nearness to You and a goodly return, and make me one who fears Your station and Your warning and hopes for Your meeting. Make me one who turns to You in sincere repentance. And I ask You for deeds that are accepted, knowledge that benefits, striving that is appreciated and a trade that will never fail.

46Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ بِمَا شَهِدْتَ بِهِ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ وَشَهِدَتْ بِهِ مَلَائِكَتُكَ وَأَنْبِيَاؤُكَ وَأُولُو الْعِلْمِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَشْهَدْ بِمَا شَهِدْتَ بِهِ فَاكْتُبْ شَهَادَتِي مَكَانَ شَهَادَتِهِ. أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ فَكَاكَ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ النَّارِ.

Allāhumma innī ushhiduka bimā shahidta bihī ʿalā nafsik, wa shahidat bihī malāʾikatuka wa anbiyāʾuka wa ulu l-ʿilm, wa man lam yashhad bimā shahidta bih, fa ktub shahādatī makāna shahādatih. Anta s-Salāmu wa minka s-salām, tabārakta yā Dha l-Jalāli wa l-Ikrām. Allāhumma innī asʾaluka fakāka raqabatī mina n-nār.

O Allah, I call You to witness to what You have borne witness to concerning Yourself, and to what Your angels, Your prophets and those possessed of knowledge have borne witness to. And whoever does not bear witness to what You have borne witness to, write my testimony in the place of his. You are Peace, and from You is peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honour. O Allah, I ask You to free my neck from the Fire.

47Supplication

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى غَمَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ وَسَكَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ.

Allāhumma aʿinnī ʿalā ghamarāti l-mawti wa sakarāti l-mawt.

O Allah, help me through the throes of death and the agonies of death.

48Supplication

وَآخِرُ دُعَائِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالرَّفِيقِ الْأَعْلَى.

Wa ākhiru duʿāʾihī ṣalla Llāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam: Allāhumma ghfir lī wa rḥamnī wa alḥiqnī bi r-rafīqi l-aʿlā.

And his last supplication ﷺ was: O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, and join me with the Highest Companion.

49Supplication

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ وَسَلَامٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ.

Subḥāna Rabbika Rabbi l-ʿizzati ʿammā yaṣifūn. Wa salāmun ʿala l-mursalīn. Wa l-ḥamdu lillāhi Rabbi l-ʿālamīn.

Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. And peace upon the messengers. And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
